Proper care helps keep your Tape in Hair Extensions soft, smooth, and securely attached while extending their lifespan.
Before Installation
- Avoid using conditioner before applying your extensions, as it can affect tape adhesion.
- Avoid placing extensions too close to the crown or nape for a more comfortable, natural fit.
- During installation, a brief pass with a low-temperature flat iron can help improve tape adhesion.
After Installation
- Wait at least 48 hours before washing your hair to allow the tape to fully bond.
- When conditioning, keep conditioner and hair treatments away from the tape attachment areas.
Detangling
Use a wide-tooth comb or professional detangling brush. Start at the ends and gently work your way up toward the roots to minimize pulling and breakage.
Washing
Use a gentle, sulfate-free and phosphate-free shampoo. When cleansing your scalp, let the shampoo rinse naturally through the lengths of your hair rather than rubbing the extensions.
Conditioning & Treatment
Apply conditioner and a hair mask regularly to keep your extensions soft and hydrated. For extra nourishment, apply a small amount of hair oil to the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the tape bonds.
Drying & Styling
Gently pat your hair dry with a towel—never rub or twist it. Air-dry whenever possible and avoid excessive blow-drying. Tape-In Extensions can be curled, straightened, and styled as desired, but always keep heat tools below 320°F (160°C).
Sleeping
Never sleep with wet hair. Before bed, loosely braid your hair or tie it into a low ponytail. A silk pillowcase or silk sleep cap can help reduce friction, tangling, and breakage.
